The Wine
Experience
Open House
Buffet Wine
Many folks have
a holiday tradition of having an open house.
Well,
you can keep entertaining easy. Do it buffet-style. Put out roast
turkey, baked ham and a bunch of sides then let folks have at it.
Picking the
buffet wine and having it match the variety of foods is the fun
part. This year, go around the world. For
reds it's California Zinfandel and its crowd pleasing fruity peppery
taste. Then
there’s a lighter bodied Rioja Crianza from Spain for friends
who like a brighter taste.
Two great whites
to include are an Australian Chardonnay with that classic tropical
and citrus flavor and buttery texture, and a South African Chenin
Blanc for its aromatic, slightly sweet side.
Then surprise
everyone with a Tavel Rose’ from France. It’s a bone
dry yet full bodied beauty made from Grenache that you serve chilled
like a white.
It’s a
wine buffet that’s fun and flexible with something to please
every guest. So have at it and enjoy!
Pop all the corks.
